On May 14, 2010, a little girl believed to be missing child HaLeigh Cummings was seen in a grocery store parking lot in Interlachen, Florida by Mary Heron (not her real name).
On May 16, 2010, Heron contacted Write Into Action and requested Timothy Charles Holmseth, publisher, report the sighting directly to the agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation who had interviewed him on matters involving the HaLeigh Cummings investigation.
Holmseth reported the information to the special agent at the Minneapolis FBI. He also reported it to the FBI, Jacksonville, Florida.
Heron later contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement who advised her she had to make the report to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. She subsequently reported the sighting to the PCSO. “I left messages on Detective Peggy Cone’s answering machine three times,” she said.
On June 29, 2010, Heron was contacted by Detective Daley, PCSO who took a full report. “She wanted every detail,” Heron said.
Heron said she is 85% sure the child was HaLeigh Ann-Marie Cummings.
